I came back east to spend some time with the family and I was lucky enough to be able to make it for my little brother’s graduation. As I sat and watched the rehearsal, nostalgia overpowered the humidity of Goldsboro, NC and my mind began to wander. I thought about the days when I couldn’t wait to get out from under my parents, but had no clue about the intricacies of adulthood. I thought about all of the dreams I had and how I felt like this high school feeling would last forever but with different people.
Yes, as I looked around the room I saw faces full of dreams unfulfilled, limitless imagination, and I found inspiration for grasping onto that ounce of naivety and overconfidence that keeps you reaching for the stars without looking down.
Here’s a sample of portraits I captured at the graduation party that night. This is our future, raw and unconstrained.
